Cricket Bat Warranty
We guarantee all Crikon branded bats against manufacturing imperfections for 3 months from the date of purchase. Bats must be returned with proof of purchase to support any claim under warranty; failure to adhere to Crikon recommendations can affect this guarantee. Warranties are non transferrable.
Causes of Damage Not Covered by Warranty:
- Excessive Bowling Machine Usage
- Moisture damage in toe/blade
- Miss-hitting or Miss-timed shots causing cracking in the blade.
- Insufficient preparation
- Dry/Heat Damage
- Damage caused by cheap/hard balls
- Excessive Heavy Usage resulting in reduced lifespan
Excessive Bowling Machine Usage can readily damage bats and bat handles, so excessive usage should be avoided. We recommend you to use an old bat when facing a bowling machine. Signs of heavy usage will void the warranty.
Moisture Damaged Bats usually happens on damp turf wickets or wet synthetic wickets when the toe of the bat is exposed to moisture conditions. Moisture damage will lead to further splitting and damage of the affected area.
Miss-timed Shots resulting in leading edges, shoulder hits or jamming down on Yorkers can cause these areas to crack, split or damage. Heavy Miss-timed shots can also cause bats to twist in the hand causing severe pressure thru the handle and shoulders often leading to shoulder cracks. Unfortunately a cricket bat is made from soft timber and these areas are the most vulnerable due to the design of the cricket bat with minimal wood contained in these areas. A cricket bat is designed to be hit in the playing area and wrong shot selection can lead to damaged toes, edges and shoulders which are not warrantable.
Insufficient Preparation. No oiling will cause the blade to dry out and crack under pressure. No knocking in will not condition/harder the blade for play against cricket balls and will further the likelihood of damage. We strongly recommend applying a scuff sheet.
Dry/Heat Damage. Never store your bat in the car or car boot. You must avoid exposure to the extremes of temperature as this will dry the bat out and result in the bat cracking or splitting. All bats must be stored in a cool but dry place and we recommend to oil your bat at the start of each season to keep the moisture contained within the blade to further its lifespan.
Excessive Heavy Usage resulting in reduced lifespan. Warranty of the bat will be determined by the manufacturer based on how much wear and tear the bat has received over the life of the warranty period. Bats deemed excessively used will have a reduced warranty period.
If any damage occurs, the bat must be returned promptly to the retailer for advice – minor repairs can easily be completed, leaving damage unattended until beyond repair may be construed as neglect. Non-warrantable items that need repairs will be sent to a Crikon approved repairer, at the cost of the client if instructed.
Cricket Softgoods & Bag Warranty – all soft goods and bags are guaranteed against faulty workmanship for a period of 14 days under normal conditions. We do not guarantee against general wear & tear of the product which is considered normal under 14 days of usage. Customer provides return shipping and 5% restocking fee. Proof of purchase receipt is required.
Terms & Conditions of Purchase:
All bats are handmade products and are manufactured from natural materials, so some small variations may exist from bat to bat in relation to exact shapes and final sizes.
Customised bats will also have an element of interpretation to them if the customer is not actually sitting with the bat maker during the bat making process. In this instance a small margin is deemed acceptable with the finished product. We do not guarantee “pick-up” of the bat if the customer is not present to finalize the bat due to the subjective nature of pickup and feel. Given custom bats are a one off unique design, the customer accepts the above terms once committing to a custom bat process and we can not accept returns.
Bat weights may fluctuate with atmospheric conditions due to the Hygroscopic nature of wood, so final weights may vary from time of shipping, to the time of delivery to the customer. Unfortunately this is out of our control.
The lifespan of a bat should be gauged by how much ball impact it sustains, not the length of time you have owned it. One customer may hit a 1000 balls in a given week whilst the next customer may only hit 200 balls in a given week. The first customer should expect his bat to last one fifth the time of the second customer, due to the extra usage and wear & tear impacted on his bat.
